When you change your screen name, do older posts and threads keep your old name or does everything get changed to the new screen name?

From what I can tell, old posts stay with the old name....I've seen a few different people's previous names like Steven and Kevin and their older names are what I see in their old posts.

Yeah no changing identities completely here. I wish I would have used any different username just b/c my past knows me by this username. Ok. I checked a JASandCAMrock old thread that Kevin aka Weedy Spyze aka Midnight Phoenix played.
His username has changed. However, besides the username in the posts, also every edit that he did to his posts still show (I thought that went away) his old username. I will keep my eye out for what I thought I saw was old username still existing.
