Guy Sebastian Arrested in LA..., for stealing his own car... Options

Ten police officers in Los Angeles arrested Guy Sebastian after he was caught "stealing" his own car.

The incident occurred after Sebastian's car was reported missing to the LAPD two weeks ago, News Limited reports.

The singer had retrieved his car from an impound after discovering it had been towed but officers arrested him shortly after at a carwash thinking he was a thief.

Management for the singer have confirmed the incident.

Reports say "guns and handcuffs" were used and the 29-year-old former Idol winner was taken to a police station.

Sebastian was later released after proving the car was his.
It's not the first time Sebastian has run into trouble in the US. In 2009 he was held at knifepoint in a Subway restaurant.

Hilarious - a long funny story that he's already telling very on stage. Seems he had been trying to get through to the right police people to tell them he'd found the car but had been on hold forever. Guess he now knows that if it ever happens again he should NOT drive the car until the police are aware it's no longer 'stolen'.

Guy was on radio this morning, where he was asked more detail. Seems that when he found his car and drove it a short distance to the carwash, he didn't realise that US police cars have a camera on top that's scanning all the licence plates as they're driving and that there was a chance he'd be picked up very quickly. He also found out that once cars are towed they can be hard to find because of shonky impound places that are a bit loose with the info they report to the police - because these places are allowed to sell the car if it isn't claimed in ... ?I think it was 30 days.

I think many Australians would prefer the police here had more powers, the way things are going, especially with blatant street violence. We need a spot of zero tolerance.
