This past year, Melissa O'Neil and Aaron Walpole both were in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Melissa plays a small role as "Martha" however she's the understudy for Mary Magdalene, and Aaron plays Annas (and is also the understudy for Judas).
So for the great news? This Winter, straight up after they finish off the season in Stratford, Ontario, they're headed down to San Diego, California to perform at La Jolla Playhouse.  And even better news? Next Spring they'll hit NYC and will be ON BROADWAY, because that's just how good this show is. I've seen it once and I have tickets for the closing show. STOKED. Pretty sweet, eh??? Also Idol hopeful Erica Peck (who never made it to the semis if you remember; she's been in We Will Rock You as Scaramouche and other Toronto theatre credits) and CI2 semi-finalist Andrew Broderick will be joining the Stratford Shakespeare Festival company and are both in "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" next year. I wonder if Steffi D does theatre. That really seemed like the best path for her post-idol career.

I'm so glad I saw this! I'm a huge fan of Melissa (well have been since CI3) from Boston and I don't think she's ever come anywhere near here. And I'm going to NYC later this month so hopefully I can see her!
