I thought it was a very good auditions episode. There are some good singers there but of course, it remains to be seen how they will progress on the show.

2 observations:

The contestants are very young.

Most of those who got the HW ticket are above average looking.

I also liked the Phillips guy.

I just wanted to say how much I LOVE Steven Tyler. LMAO He responded well to that girl who said she was his future ex-wife. If that were me, I'd have ran and gotten security!

Agreed. I remember the brother from last year, and I don't get how the judges said that he sounded better than last year. He didn't, IMO.

I liked a few of the contestants. Especially liked the guy from NY and the wedding singer. The last blond was good too. Felt bad for the miner guy cause he sounded great when singing in the mine and his audition wasn't that great.

So far, nobody has overly impressed me, but there are still more auditions and ones that went thru that we haven't heard. I felt sorry for the sister, but I thought the brother had the better vocals. JMHO.

Oh, he's very adorable! Good voice, too. But he's going to be facing people much older with more developed voices and more developed ways to handle stress and dealing with people. I just don't think he's ready to handle all that, and he shouldn't have to be, he's only 15!

Wasn't there a 15 year old kid last year in the same situation? Nice kid with a good voice but once he got with the older, more experienced contestants he didn't have a chance. There were some very young girls like that, too.

I really wish they hadn't lowered the age to 15. Very few kids that age can compete with performers in their 20s, some of whom have had professional singing careers.

Do you think so? I wonder - I think the girls know a 'Bieber clone' when they see one, and everybody's pretty sick of Bieber anyway. He also came across as a little cocky to me, like "Hey, I'm adorable and can sing, I'm a star already!" Once he gets to Hollywood and they do the group exercises, that kind of attitude may get him shut out. He even combs his hair like Bieber.

AI is supposed to be about finding someone new and fresh, not cranking out a carbon copy of someone who's already ridden the fame train. We'll see.

I agree with you totally. The last girl wasn't NEARLY as good as the mobile DJ/wedding singer.

I read a few tweets that made me think this was going to be horrible.....well it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. It was Steven. There have been far worse renditions of the National Anthem.
