True. Yeah, it is rough. I think Coldplay definitely gets a lot more hate. U2 are still very respected overall and Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree are still considered classics. I like Coldplay, but I doubt they'll ever get the level of respect that U2 has. -------------------- ![]() And you never knew why you felt so good. In the strangest of places.

Don't get the hype with this Neon Hitch chick. She sounds just like a poor man's Britney to me, her latest song is basically just a blatant ripoff of Hold it Against Me.

Does anyone find Sheryl Crow underrated, or at least that she gets an unfair reputation?
Most people I know think of her as an annoying remnant from the Lilith Fair era, but I consider her one of the few consummate professionals still going. She's far and away one of the best songwriters of the last twenty years, a very good vocalist, and an engaging performer. Rock and roll audiences see her as too country, and country radio may see her as too liberal, so I don't get the sense she has the base someone of her level ought to have. -------------------- John le Carré's conduct in your pages is like nothing so much as that of a man who, having relieved himself in his own hat, makes haste to clamp the brimming chapeau on his head.

My Favorite Mistake is such a perfect song, in general though I have always thought of Sheryl Crow as being just about fairly rated... not so much underrated or overrated though.

Looking at the iTunes top 2... best top 2 in a while. However... Somebody That I Used To Know > We Are Young. Somebody That I Used to Know is so good. It gives me like a Dire Straits/Police 80s vibe, but I might be alone in that. I didn't like it at first but it's one of those really understated songs that grows on you. And I think Video Games was a terrible choice for Lana's most heavily promoted single, it's in the lower 3 or 4 songs of the album I think and there's so many other songs from Born to Die that would have been a much better single option. --------------------

My Favorite Mistake is such a perfect song, in general though I have always thought of Sheryl Crow as being just about fairly rated... not so much underrated or overrated though. I've always thought she was fairly rated as well. As far as Lilith Fair remnants go, I totally prefer Jewel but Sheryl's great. Strong Enough, If It Makes You Happy, My Favorite Mistake, etc. are all favorites. Somebody That I Used to Know is so good. It gives me like a Dire Straits/Police 80s vibe, but I might be alone in that. I didn't like it at first but it's one of those really understated songs that grows on you. Yeah at first I was like "what" but now I LOVE it. And I always thought it reminded me of Police/Peter Gabriel with maybe some Phil Collins thrown in (but not Genesis), but Dire Straits fits in with that a little as well. -------------------- |

My Favorite Mistake is such a perfect song, in general though I have always thought of Sheryl Crow as being just about fairly rated... not so much underrated or overrated though. Agree about Sheryl Crow and how she is rated. Also agree with SpamGoddess. I prefer other Lilith Fair artists like Jewel and Sarah Mclachlan much more. Those artists are more underrated than Crow is. And I think Video Games was a terrible choice for Lana's most heavily promoted single, it's in the lower 3 or 4 songs of the album I think and there's so many other songs from Born to Die that would have been a much better single option. I think she mentioned it wasn't intended to become a single, but it became one because of all the buzz around it. It's the song that generated all the hype in the first place. So can't really argue with the response from the public. -------------------- ![]() And you never knew why you felt so good. In the strangest of places.

I like Coldplay, but I doubt they'll ever get the level of respect that U2 has. Yeah, definitely. And that's pretty well-deserved, especially when it comes to The Joshua Tree. One of my favorite albums. Looking at the iTunes top 2... best top 2 in a while. However... Somebody That I Used To Know > We Are Young. Agreed. Somebody That I Used to Know is so good. I hear that too! It sounds like it could've been popular 30 years ago or something. Every time I hear Video Games, I think of this one parody video that was absolutely hilarious. But I can't find it now. Oh and I like Sheryl Crow too! My Favorite Mistake, If It Makes You Happy, and Steve McQueen are my jams. Marina & The Diamonds is one of the most interesting artists out there and deserves way more popularity/overall recognition than she gets.
