- As far as Newton's post-game presser goes, I don't blame him for walking out because feeling upset, frustrated, and in a bad mood that he lost; however, his failure to address the fumble that set up the CJ Anderson touchdown leaves something to be desired: First of all, how the hell did he not see Von Miller coming? Secondly, why did he not bother to dive for the fumble? Those are questions that we deserve to know immediately. If that was someone from my team doing that (both that play AND walking out before addressing the elephant in the room), I would've ripped him to shreds on both fronts.

- There are a faction of fans out there who feel that today should be a National Holiday... Ummm, we'll have that conversation when MLB's Opening Day is made a National Holiday first... tongue.gif

Although I disagree with the walking out (I think he should be allowed to walk out, but I think he should be criticized as that's now how you handle it), I have to agree with the other points.

I honestly think Cam had given up once the Broncos were ahead two scores in the 4th. He had been pressured all game and was obviously rattled. I think he was over it (which is ridiculous in itself since the game was still close) so he didn't bother to be all that careful with the ball and didn't bother to go after it when it was on the ground. What's even worse is he probably had a good shot at getting the ball since the only other person nearby only had an arm free.

I agree. What is going through his head when he not only doesn't jump at that good of an opportunity to recover his fumble, but seems to actually turn away from the ball? He would have had a chance to win the game if he'd gotten it back. It's almost like subconsciously, he knew he couldn't get the ball downfield against the Broncos defense anyways.

Also, for as much has been made about Cam's post-game behavior, Peyton's corporate celebration is not getting much play. If you're a business partner with Budweiser because you happen to like it, okay, but trotting out Papa John onto the field, really?

- As you may know, KD was at the Super Bowl and took some photos for the Players' Tribune... shifty.gif

- For as much grief as people gave Cam Newton for storming out of his post-game presser... I wonder how much grief people gave Peyton Manning for storming off the field before the end of Super Bowl XLIV. Oh, wait...

We all know what the difference is between Peyton and Cam. No one wants to say it, but that's why the sports idiots are kicking up a fuss.

Remember Eli Manning's "not impressed" face after CJ Anderson's touchdown? shifty.gif Me neither. laughing.gif

He has been taken off the hook by Tori Kelly, who flashed this non-plussed expression during T-Swift's speech at the Grammys last night... laughing.gif

Jets just released CB Antonion Cromartie, freeing up $8 million in cap space. A smart move considering both the cap hit he would be as well as how poorly he played last season.

This probably sets up a competition between Marcus Williams, Dexter McDougle, and Dee Milliner for the CB2 spot.

As far as Peyton retirement talk goes: For what it's worth, Michael Strahan announced his retirement four months after Super Bowl XLII.

I wouldn't be surprised if March 9th passes and Manning needs more time to think about retiring...

The issue is Manning's $19 million salary for next season will be fully guaranteed if he's on the roster on March 8th. If he hasn't made a decision by then, the Broncos will absolutely cut him. So Peyton needs to decide pretty quickly if retiring on top is important, or if he's willing to play out one or two more seasons in a place like Houston.

Sports Authority is filing for bankruptcy. shocked.gif I still refer to the Broncos' stadium by its original name of Invesco Field, but if the Broncos want to rename it Mile High Stadium, I would not mind... whistling.gif

Well, I was wrong about Peyton needing more time to decide, but his decision to retire was inevitable.

Congratulations on you career, Peyton. yes.gif

Excellent career, Payton.

I guess the only thing left now is whether the Colts sign him to a one day deal, and have him retire as a Colt.

Free agency opens today at 4 PM. A lot of deals have already been finalized, but it's always exciting once the league year starts and things become official grin.gif

We've already lost Jets RB Chris Ivory to the Jaguars, where he's apparently signing a 5 year, $6 million a year deal. Great player, but he's too injury prone, and old, to throw that kind of money on him. I would have been happy with a 2 year, $3 million a year deal, with all guarantees up front.

Rumors about DT Damon "Snacks" Harrison signing with the Blue clowns are circulating. He's a great player, but the guy wants 6-8 million a year to play a run-stopping support position. He isn't on the field for all 3 downs, so that kind of money is just silly. If the Giants want to pay for it, be my guest. Hopefully this works out like the time we lost Shaun Ellis to them and then he decided to stop playing well shifty.gif

Fitzmagic is out there, shopping himself around. If the LA Rams don't sign him I suspect he'll be back. Sign him to a 2 or 3 year deal, $5 million a year. Hopefully this would be the last year we need his services.

And I suppose other NY team news: JPP is back with the Giants for one more year, and Victor Cruz will probably be salsa dancing somewhere else next season unless he's willing to take a pay cut.

Sounds like the Giants are about to sign DT Damon Harrison for between 8-9 million a year. Yikes. If that number is true, that's an unfortunate over-spend.
