This is a tweet from WFLZ, a CHR station in Tampa Bay, FL.

Apparently, Kris' handler Liz tweeted that its not true in reply to fan tweet. But WFLZ said otherwise:

@933flz - Kris's people said that this is not true. -Well his record company just played us a minute of it. It was good!

My thinking is that this may or may not be Kris' next single and Jive is just testing the waters to gauge radio station's reaction to the song.

There was supposedly a meeting in NY with Clear Channel PD's involved and Jive presented one of Kris' songs for preview. Its nice to know that Jive has started the ball rolling and these 2 radio stations gave positive feedback to the song.

Here's the story on the new Kris song as told by TOby Knapp:

Kris Allen - the American Idol alum - doesn't plan on being hit with the so-called sophomore jinx, and has the new music to prove it!

The Idol's label - the Zomba/Jive division of Sony Music - revealed Allen's new song, tentatively titled "A Vision of Love," earlier today during some closed door music meetings in New York City's PC Richards and Son Theatre in Tribeca.

"The song is great, it's not slow, it's an uptempo pop rock song that will fit in nicely, with just enough beat to calm some of pop radio's fear of songs which get classified as 'adult' because they have guitars," said American radio presenter Toby Knapp, who heard the song personally as Allen's label unveiled priorities for the second half of 2011. "The song will be released later this year, and I'm told from label executives that the title isn't set, meaning, they probably are trying to decide what to title the song so it doesn't conflict with Mariah Carey's song by the same name from back in the day."

It's believed Knapp confirmed this information with Executive Vice President of Zomba Music's promotion, Joe Riccitelli, who may or may not have used the magical hit predictor to determine the 'hit-worthiness' of the song.

I know...."later this year" sounds so distant. Why couldn't they say ...next month. But it sounds like it has to be getting close, because they are talking about what song will debut. I am glad the song in question is safe for pop. Hurry up and release something!!!

I know...I was disappointed with Cook's debut single too. It is more of the same. Cook even said it was an extension of his first album. I really want Kris to take his new music to a new level. Kris..show us the depth of your artistry!..

I think what he meant was that in the meeting where he and Jive "negotiate" what the first single will be, and after they strong-arm him (again), he'll be the first to let us know what the first single will be before anyone else...

hopefully, Kris only gives them songs that he loves to choose from. Last time, he was "given" songs... but it sounds like this time, he's making most of them himself... or let's hope...
