Starting this thread 'cause there is some much talk about Adam working with other singers/groups...so here's a pplace to sort out the gossip from the truth.
First up....this article from MJ's American Idol Headlines Link: http://www.mjsbigblog.com/idol-headlines-for-020312.htm Adam Lambert to perform with Queen at the Sonisphere festival? – ROCK gods Queen are reforming again and I can reveal they’re headlining Sonisphere festival this summer. Freddie Mercury’s place will be taken by Adam Lambert, the American Idol winner. The flamboyant 30-year-old revealed: “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.” Sonisphere’s line-up, which also includes metal veterans Faith No More, tours Europe before hitting Knebworth on July 6-8, scene of Queen’s final gig with Freddie in 1986. Read more at the Daily Star And from the Daily Star Link: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/2...Adam-n-Eve-it-/ 3rd February 2012 By Kim Dawson with James Cabooter ROCK gods Queen are reforming again and I can reveal they’re headlining Sonisphere festival this summer. Freddie Mercury’s place will be taken by Adam Lambert, the American Idol winner. He wowed fans by singing with original members Brian May and Roger Taylor at MTV’s EMAs in Belfast last November. Adam told me he can’t wait to sing with guitarist Brian, 64, and drummer Roger, 62. Adam enthused: “After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of a backlash from people saying: ‘You can’t replace Freddie Mercury.’ But I already knew that. “There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That’s impossible. “The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honour and one I’m in no way going to shirk.” Adam first met his new band- mates when they played We Are The Champions at American Idol’s final in 2009. Adam recalled: “Straight away I thought: ‘These guys are so f*****g rad.’ They’re a class act, so sweet and paternal and on a musical level really open to great new experiences.” The trio haven’t discussed making an album but Adam confessed: “It’d be cool to record with Brian and Roger. “Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen.” Freddie died in 1991 but Queen reformed for an album and tour with Free singer Paul Rodgers, 62, in 2005. As well as his Queen duties, Adam releases stunning discotastic second album Trespassing on March 19. He grinned: “I learned so much from doing my first album. “Trespassing is much more of an album, not just a collection of would-be singles like my first record.” -------------------- |

AND!!!!!! FROM RCA PROMO @RCAPromoRCA Records Promo http://on.mtv.com/AlfnVj @AdamLambert to tour with Queen! Well that's interesting. RCA links to the MTV article which quotes from a tabloid. I don't know what to believe yet. And, I don't like the word 'tour'. A few dates (possibly that festival) but a tour? -------------------- ![]() Avi & Sig: Ashline |

Just a clarification....I didn't start this thread because I believe Adam in going to be Queen's new frontman. That, IMHO, willl never happen....Adam has his own career which is going to explode.
It does appear that he will be doing some one-off concerts with them.....most talked about is this 3 date rock festival in July. He willl be on Access Hollywood and the Insider today....maybe more info? Stay tuned. Didn't he tell Lyndsey he wouldn't do that? That he wouldn't have them backing him. A Skank can dream. IMO not out of the realm of possibility on a single one off concert for 1 song. -------------------- |

Sonisphere has a festival in Finland at the beginning of June... Dare we hope....? I would much rather go to Finland than UK......only because I have never been there. Let's hope! --------------------

Sonisphere has a festival in Finland at the beginning of June... Dare we hope....? It would be great! Metallica is the main performer. I've never been, but my understanding is that the festival is very heavy metal, when in Finland. Might be completely wrong, though. -------------------- |

Apparantly this festival tours all over Europe from June to August. It does play in Knebworth, England which is the last place that Queen played with Freddie fronting. That would be the ticket I'd go for.
And yes, it does appear that it is a heavy metal scene. You can follow it here on Twitter: @sonisphere -------------------- |

A few dates (possibly that festival) but a tour? I'm in total agreement with that. It doesn't add up, considering he's releasing his second album right now. I would think he'd want to promote his own stuff, not tour with another band. -------------------- ![]() Forever My Idols: Nikki McKibbin. Kimberly Caldwell. Constantine Maroulis. Jason Castro. jo @jok1213
Adam Lambert as just been interviewed on MTV UK news says there is going to be a performance with Queen but he is not allowed to reveal yet. Retweeted by Adam Gossip This really isn't anything new though. Didn't he say that to Lyndsey or Laura last week...that there was something but he couldn't talk about it. And looks like RCA Promo deleted their earlier tweet. -------------------- ![]() Avi & Sig: Ashline |

I'm in total agreement with that. It doesn't add up, considering he's releasing his second album right now. I would think he'd want to promote his own stuff, not tour with another band. I think it might make sense............... for a HUGE double whammy of positive publicity today - new video PLUS this guy is good enough and versatile enough to be asked to front THE iconic rock group. You cannot get bigger than Knebworth for rock credibility. So when Adam starts the rounds of US radio publicity next week , he has : 1) An amazing new, very contemporary pop album to promote 2) A possible huge collaboration with Bruno Mars 3) A brand new, gorgeous looking video of a mid tempo song 4) A short tour with at least one amazing venue with Queen. ALL THIS should hopefully deflect some of the negative attitude and questioning that Adam is always being bombarded with ( AMA's , Finland, gay etc). My only slight doubt on this is the paper that this is quoted from - however, however poor they might be in terms of news reporting - the UK red top papers showbiz guys have always been fantastic supporters of Adam. -------------------- |

A few shows with Queen would be okay, but an entire TOUR?! No thanks. I'd rather see Adam on his OWN, doing his OWN stuff.
