THINGS WE KNOW FOR A FACT AS CONFIRMED BY ADAM

On the Red Carpet
http://www.ontheredcarpet.com/Adam-Lambert...be-dark/7908267

Look for an album this fall, a single probably about late summer," he said. "I'm starting to talk to some writers and come up with some ideas and I'll be writing a lot of it myself. It's going to be very pop, very rock, maybe even a little dark."

February 14, 2011
Lambert has described the upcoming record as more “personal” than his previous effort, saying: "[The album is] honest, genuine and personal. I want this to be my album, and dive into it with what I've learned this year, and where I'm at personally with love and relationships. Great music is personal and real. That's what this album will be."

http://www.fleckingrecords.co.uk/2011/03/adam-lambert-talks-moody-album.html

Adam Lambert says his second album is going to be moody.

“It’s going to be great. It’s moody so far, but who knows,” Adam said.

“I should probably stop now because last time we did this, I said all this stuff about the album and then it was, like, ‘Oh that didn’t make the album.’ So I don’t wanna jinx it.”

“I love electronic music. Really, I listen to a lot of it.”

“The pop music that’s out right now I love, but I’ve become attracted to more organic sounds again. Even if they’re electronic, I want them to feel like they came from the earth, tangible, more primal.”

MEDIA ARTICLES/INTERVIEWS ON ALBUM

1.
http://yourmamakath.blogspot.com/2011/01/l...ystal-ball.html

Looking into the Adam Lambert crystal ball
With the upsurge of artists such as Kylie Minogue, Robyn, Goldfrappe, Scissor Sisters, Florence & The Machine and Mark Ronson in 2010 and the recognition of Her Ladyship the GodGa, the way is opened for Adam Lambert to really hit his stride in 2011. Sharing Grammy nom listings with La Roux, Muse and Max Martin adds fuel to the fire that has the potential to burn bright for many years. The Glamnation Tour and For Your Entertainment are under his belt now. Now is the time to settle into finding his real niche, create and record a new album and then earn some genuine street cred.
Let’s break it down. Adam Lambert’s sophomore album will be the next big step. He’s said it should drop “this summer”. Considering tour wrapped on December 16th and he had no more appearances scheduled, with holiday breaks, the process can start as soon as next week. Lambert has also stated in many interviews that there will be a lot more time put into this album, as it does not have the constraints of his debut disc so RCA is probably working toward a May or June release. Other things he has discussed are having done some writing on the road with members of his band and some of the sounds he is considering. It would be a wise move to continue moving in the vein of Gaga, Pink, Muse, My Chemical Romance and other artists who walk the line between alt and pop. His voice has so much flexibility which when combined with his lack of fear of trying new things can be taken into a world of combining rock, electronica, club, prog and glam for something completely different. Previous collaborations that can (and should) be explored deeper are GaGa, Matt Belamy, Sam Sparro, Evan Bogart and Greg Wells. New ones that should be added? Jake Shears, Brian Molko, the Leto brothers and Chris Corner. That dark electronica along with melodies that allow for the vocal acrobatics that are Adam’s signature are the kinds of sounds that can crossover numerous radio station formats and other fanbases.

It is this growth of listeners that is crucial to Adam Lambert attaining the type of longevity he deserves. The record that he puts out is only part of the equation. There is also the process of continued cultivation of fans. He knew early on that he needed to move beyond Idol-verse. Lambert has been both diligent and shrewd about distancing himself from the 19E juggernaut that he used to get the exposure he’d been seeking for a decade. Little things like polite “thanks but no thanks” included in interview questions, smoking weed on stage in Amsterdam (yes, it was totally legal and actually pretty tame when it comes to being ‘rock-n-roll’), and mentioning how the Grammy nomination gives him more true industry recognition have all resulted in indignant responses from some fans to the point of them walking (storming) away from Camp Glam. But as any gardener or farmer knows, you have to get rid of the weeds and sometimes even do a controlled-burn of the field to produce a rich, healthy crop in future harvests.

Adam Lambert Signs Admin Deal With Kobalt
http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/industry/pu...004139982.story

January 21, 2011 – Publishing | Rock & Pop

By Ed Christman, N.Y.

The Kobalt Music Group has signed Adam Lambert to a worldwide administration deal, a rep for the company told Billboard today.

The "American Idol" runner-up co-wrote a number of songs on his most recent album, including "Pick You Up" and "Broken Open" (both co-written with Kobalt writer/producer Greg Wells), and "Aftermath," which was produced by Howard Benson. He also had a hand in songs that have been released in various international formats.

The Kobalt Model - A Modern Approach To Publishing Sets New Industry Standards
Collection of royalties has traditionally been time-consuming and costly. Usually writers receive royalties 9-24 months after they are earned and pay a significant amount of up to 50% of gross royalties in payments to intermediaries including collection societies. In addition, the traditionally opaque and complex reporting have made it near impossible for the writers to know if the collected royalties are correct or comprehensive. Kobalt has developed centralised, automated and efficient administration services supported by a scalable, proprietary, dedicated system using the latest technology. As a result of Kobalt's innovative approach, Kobalt offers a reduction in royalty collection time of up to 50%, more effective collection as well as substantially improved transparency.

Additionally, when copyright holders and songwriters need money, music publishers usually offer them monetary advances contingent upon the copyright holder giving up part ownership in their works. However Kobalt provides the ability for clients to inexpensively obtain pipeline advances as needed and flexible rates without having to give up rights or secure long term deals. When this is combined with personalised creative/A&R, and synchronisation services for the client from our responsive, experienced global teams, Kobalt is clearly the best choice for managing your copyrights.

Lambert is currently at work on his next album.

Monte Pittman:

Q: Adam had mentioned that you are his inspiration. How’s his new album coming along?
M: Yes, I have a few songs written already and he’s picking the one he likes. We are working on a demo right now. Not sure which direction we are going yet. Actually we really wanted to make a song together for his first album. I’m really hoping that we can do it for the 2nd one.

Q: How do you want the 2nd album to be? Would it be different from the first one?
M: It’s hard to say. We can start off with one direction and end up with a different one. What’s important is to come up with great songs.

Q: But compared to the first album where many song writers have collaborated, Adam is counting on you to be closely involved with 2nd one, right?
M: Yeah, but we may use other song writers pieces, too. I’ve been writing rock, funky, sexy and acoustic tunes. I have Adam in mind when I write songs but end up with something Madonna would sing. Songs when she was more into rock, lol.

ADAM LAMBERT TEASES DETAILS OF SECOND ALBUM

Monday, 14 February 2011 Written by James Conlon

http://www.stereoboard.com/index.php?optio...35&Itemid=9

Adam Lambert has teased fans by offering hints about his upcoming sophomore record. The Grammy-nominated singer is currently recording the follow-up to his successful debut record ‘For Your Entertainment’, released in 2009.

Lambert has described the upcoming record as more “personal” than his previous effort, saying: "[The album is] honest, genuine and personal. I want this to be my album, and dive into it with what I've learned this year, and where I'm at personally with love and relationships. Great music is personal and real. That's what this album will be."

The singer also revealed that he will be working with producer Max Martin on the record. Martin has previously worked with artists including Britney Spears, Westlife, Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, acting as the driving force behind hits such as ‘California Gurls’, ‘Oops! I Did It Again...’ and ‘I Want It That Way’. Lambert showed his excitement about the partnership, saying: "It's definitely going to happen. He's one of my favourite producers ever."

Lambert also revealed that his second album should be released some time in 2011. The singer told music website PopEater: "I can't reveal much, but I'm crossing my fingers for a fall release date."

New interview with Ryan Tedder:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/idol-wors...bert-175712THR: You’ve recently worked with several Idol alums including Adam Lambert, with whom you’ve written two songs. In terms of the progress of his new album, where do you think he’s at musically?

Tedder: I think he's a rocker. He can definitely pull off a dance song, but after working with him, I really think he’s a rock dude and one of the greatest male vocalists around, for sure. The first album was trying every musical style under the sun, but I believe his naturally proclivity is rock and I think that's the direction he's going to go. No matter what, I think Adam’s a star.

THR: Adam has described the album as slightly more serious, did you get that sense in the studio?

Tedder: He’s still super funny and goofy as hell. We just have fun in the studio. He doesn't take himself seriously at all. It's still fun and cheeky and sarcastic, but he definitely knows what he wants. As for me, the only stuff I've ever had success with is when I'm trying to be completely original and I'm not thinking about mirroring what else is out there. So basically – and selfishly -- all I really do is, I write or produce the kind of Adam Lambert song that I would want to hear.

THR: What about David Cook, did he voice any concerns coming into this second record?

Tedder: I think a concern that anybody might have with working with me after "Already Gone," "Apologize," and "Halo" is that I’m going to give them this huge sweeping ballad. Even on Adam's last album, I gave him "Sleepwalker," but I'm kind of over that. I got sick of it about a year-and-a-half ago and stopped.

http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/the-beat-goes-on/posts/interview-adam-lambert-talks-new-album-idol-and-his-favorite-song

Hitfix caught up with Adam Lambert on the red carpet at the ASCAP Pop Awards on Wednesday night as the “American Idol” runner-up was at the Los Angeles event to present his producer Max Martin with the songwriter of the year award.

Dapperly dressed and expertly coiffed, Lambert was friendly but coy when asked about his next album, which he says he’s been working on for about two months. He was more forthcoming about his pick to win “American Idol” this season and whose music he’s really feeling right now.

On how the new album is coming: I feel really creative right now. I feel good. I feel like everything’s going to come together and it’s going to be a great project.

On the sound: I don’t really know yet and I kind of don’t want to jinx it or give anything away. I think the most important thing for me to keep in mind as a songwriter and as a vocalist now is that my fans want to here my voice, first and foremost. And I think kind of our general rule in songwriting is that it has to come from the heart; it has to be real.

On producers: I have a bunch of producers lined up. It’s kind of a... we’re doing it that way. I’m working with a handful of different people, creating as much music as possible, and then when it comes to pick tracks for the album, we’ll narrow it down. Unfortunately, we’ll have to narrow it down.

On some of the specific people you’re working with: I’m not going to say. i’m keeping my eggs in my basket. There’s been a couple of producers who may have mentioned it on Twitter here and there, which is great, but I kind of want to keep it a surprise for everybody, it’s going to be really great.

On his favorite “American Idol” this season: Haley [Reinhart] is definitely my favorite Idol right now. I love the sound of her voice. The texture of it, musically her choices are incredible. I don’t even think people are realizing the things that she’s doing vocally and I think it’s because she’s so effortless about it. She isn’t trying too hard. She’s just there. She’s just embodying it. She’s so comfortable and to me that’s what a real star is.

On hitting 1 million Tweeter followers: That’s crazy, that’s so crazy. It’s weird to know that I can just pick up my cell phone and on a whim, write something and a million people are going to read it. It’s kind of dangerous.

On his favorite song right now: That Adele, “Someone like You” song, it cuts me right to the core. It’s so vulnerable and that’s the type of stuff that’s really inspiring right now. You know I love modern, electronic pop rock production, but at the heart of it I think the song needs to hit you in the heart.

On if he’d change anything on his first album: No, no. I think the first album is amazing. I’m really proud of it. That was my first time out. We did it really fast. It had a ton of momentum behind it and I got to explore my glam rock, you know, my glam rock self, my T-Rex/Bowie/Gary Glitter/Boy George self and this album is going to be an evolution.

Adam Lambert: 'Behind the Scenes' video being shot while in the studio (VIDEO)

Typically, when an artist is working in the studio when writing and recording a new album, fans and the general public have no idea what is happening behind the scenes. However, it looks like Adam Lambert's fans will be receiving a treat. Alex Castino from Jokerstyle Productions tweeted this morning that they will be shooting behind the scenes video of Adam in the studio for the next two days. Based on a tweet from Adam yesterday, we can assume that the footage is from the session with Bonnie Mckee, Oliver Goldstein and Josh Abraham.

In his tweet, Alex said to “LIKE Jokerstyle Productions on Facebook,” so hopefully some of the footage of Adam will be posted on their Facebook page, which can be found here. In the “info” section of their Facebook page, you can see their impressive credit list, which includes work with many top artists such as Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Green Day, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha, several past American Idol finalists, and many more.

To see previous “behind the scenes” work that Jokerstyle Productions has done with Adam, click on the video link to the left of this article. Although they have given no indication as to when the video they are shooting this week will be available for fans to see, we can only hope that it will be soon.

Are you excited to see new behind the scenes video of Adam Lambert working in the studio? Make sure to "like" Jokerstyle Productions' Facebook page for when they give updates.

Adam Lambert Making His 'Dream Album'
Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia help create 'honest and real' follow-up to For Your Entertainment.

Adam Lambert's debut album, 2009's For Your Entertainment, was very much a product of his time on "American Idol" — written and produced by a hand-picked team of hitmakers, it was the kind of the thing the folks at 19 Entertainment wanted to hear. So it's somewhat understandable that, on his follow-up disc, Lambert is very much determined to make the kind of album he wants to hear.

"I think I've probably written about 18 to 20 songs. I've been spending the past two and a half months in the studio,"
Lambert told MTV News on the red carpet of Wednesday's "Idol" finale in Los Angeles. "I'm writing most of the material with people myself this time ... I'm really involved. It's really exciting because I think I'm making my dream album. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but I'm making exactly what I want to listen to."

That echoes the sentiments Lambert shared with us earlier this year, when he said he was taking his time to work on his new album, and that the goal was to "write the most personal songs, the most powerful songs. I really want it to be something that's really honest and real."

Helping him achieve that goal are a variety of seasoned pros — Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia, to name just a few — and while there's still no release date for the album, Lambert said he's in no rush. He's enjoying the writing process, and getting an education in songwriting in the process.

"I'm learning so much from everybody, so that's probably the best part," he said.

OMG, I didn't read it that way - I thought he was talking about the FYE album songs! haha.gif

So exciting! clap.gif This line really struck me though:

"He has also released a tour version of his album, all of which come with a DVD. If you get your hands on that, you will see his version of stage diving."

Like, are they saying we're getting PROFESSIONAL footage of the TCB tongue diving incident? w00t.gif I highly doubt it but I'm jizzing nontheless!

I don't know...this article as a whole seems like a mish mash of random facts thrown together, and the quotes from Adam seem kind of 'altered'. I think he actually said that he wrote 5 songs for the album that's currently out, and the interviewer either misheard or misunderstood. Because he did actually write 5 songs on FYE.

In my world too fear.gif If you can't strum the gui-tar, YOU CAN"T BE ARTISTICALLY CREATIVE! As evidenced by Adam's 100 WLL versions and the different stuff he does with his own songs every night.

Nope! Get some gui-tar lessons Adam! haha.gif

Now that I'm thinking about it, I would LOVE for Monte to teach him to play. Can you imagine DA LAMB playing an electric gui-tar?

Adam's written five new songs? w00t.gif I remember Monte saying ages ago that he and Adam had been writing stuff together! Maybe we'll get some Citizen Vein-ish stuff? I think he also said in another interview that he'd like to do some funk and had been in touch with Nikka Costa. This is so exciting! Can't wait! grin.gif

Oh and Silvia, Adam playing electric guitar will make for two dead skanks!
