Tracks

American Idol winner Lee DeWyze placed five tracks, plus his duet with runner-up Crystal Bowersox, on Nielsen SoundScan's Top Digital Tracks chart this week. Lee's coronation single, Beautiful Day, ranked the highest, No. 10, with 95,000 downloads.

Crystal had three solo tracks on the list, with Up to the Mountain selling 49,000 copies. The Lee & Crystal duet, Falling Slowly, sold 44,000.

No other Season 9 contestants made SoundScan's top 200 chart.

Week-to-week downloads of Carrie Underwood's Undo It more than doubled following her finale performance of the song. Kris Allen's The Truth, also performed on the finale, failed to crack the Top 200.

Other winners from Idol's finale week: Will Young's Leave Right Now, the season's exit song, which saw its week-to-week downloads grow more than 700 percent; and U2's original version of Beautiful Day, which increased 212 percent week-over-week.

Albums

Carrie Underwood's performance of Undo It on last week's American Idol finale helped her Play On album remain the best-selling from an Idol alumnus last week. Weekly sales of Play On increased 36% as Carrie jumped from No. 35-No. 24 on The Billboard 200.

Other Idol acts on The Billboard 200 this week: Adam Lambert (-6%), Daughtry (-26%) and We Are the Fallen (-1%).

As far as Season 9 contestants, Crystal Bowersox had the highest showing for her Season 9 Favorite Performances collection, followed closely by Lee DeWyze's Slumberland and his Season 9 Favorite Performances. All three sets sold slightly more than 2,000 units.

Sucks how little promotion the Idols get now. What's the point of the show when they are promoted so bad? I know she is on talk shows but it's just not the same as it was with people like Kelly and Carrie...unless the Idol phenomenon has just faded out.

Congratulations to Crystal.

I'll be honest--I wasn't expecting to like her album, but I bought it last week and I LOVE IT. I can't stop listening to Farmers Daughter and Holy Toledo.

I finally remembered who Crystal reminds me of: Alanis Morrisette (who is awesome).

I also think it's a better album than Lee's. I'm not surprised she outsold him.
