How can having Fergie, Mariah, and Victoria not be as good as Paula, Nicole bloated.gif , and Steve

Mariah, whether you like her or not, is a legend.

Fergie is part of one of the biggest groups in the world currently

And Victoria Beckham is a major step up from Steve, as much as I liked him.

I think they are too similar. Too make this show successful they need different types of judges. You need a Mariah, a Simon, a Paula and a Howard Stern type person. I just feel Fergie, Mariah and Victoria are way too similar "types" and maybe I am in the minority but none of them appeal to me as judges even if I do like their music.

Good riddance to Nicole. It was all about her ego.

I agree. I just can't imagine a judging panel of Reid, Fergie, Carey and Cowell. Have Paula back in place of Fergie throws in a perfect balance. I swear Paula's commitment in training with her acts really got to me when watching The X Factor.

Paula is a gr8 person and should not be treated like this. The next season esp for the contestants is going to be even tougher and darker w/o Paula around.

I feel bad for Paula, but as stated by one of the Fox executives, they want to come back and be completely different from Idol, or as far away as they can, and having Paula makes it seem like AI.

Well, ok, then they should never have hired her as a judge in the first place. And gone with the whole "He's Back" campaign. All we got instantly were AI memories.

Hire her as a behind the scenes person.

I personally disagree with them on that though I understand why they'd say that.

I find her completely different on this show than on Idol. All she ever did on Idol minus her own performance, was sit, talk and watch. On The X Factor she actually stands up and does something more than just sitting on the chair. And now Francis in that article said that she was there with them 6 days a week. That is class.

Yes, I agree completely, on this show I didn't hate her. But she is very biased towards young guys and that's not even a question, but neither is her dedication. I agree with the post before on how she should be hired behind the scenes, let her be the choreographer over Brian or something.

I read the following from mjsbigblog from radaronline:

Paula Abdul Not OK with X Factor Firing

I have to say that the pic they used is showing all of Paula's near 50 years of life.

I don't get that from Paula at all. I know she usually likes the young guys but I rarely think it's at the expense of the female contestants, the exception being the Drew vs Marcus sing off.
She voted to save Rachel over marcus in that sing off where Rachel gave the better "sing for your life", the outcome was Nicole's fault and I remember on AI7 all the female contestants were constantly being thrown under the bus by Simon and Randy in the show's desperation for a male winner (if they only knew then what they know now lol) and Paula usually stood up for them so I wouldn't call her biased towards the male contestants.

Anyway, more to the point of this thread, I'm happy Steve won't be back next season, yes he was so bad it actually provided comedy to the show but at the same time it was just too awkward and I'm not surprised Nicole won't be back but I am rather disapointed about Paula not coming back, with how dedicated a mentor she was if she was given a strong category or a safe category (ie the boys) she could have had a good season in season 2. crying.gif

I don't think that Simon has lost it. He lost it last year with the choices he made. Now, he's getting back on track. With a new show he needed a new sparring partner, not an old one, Paula. An American show, he needed a friendly, out-going American host. AI and The Voice have 'stars', he had Nicole. He needs to make much better decisions this year and I think he will.

Paula and Nicole's meltdowns were one of the highlights of the season. Steve's awkwardness was also pretty entertaining too, especially when Simon decided to beat up on him. Simon is ruining his own show but taking his glorified karaoke contest / idol clone too seriously and taking out all the fun bits. I don't see how it improves the show.

According to Simon, Beyonce and Mariah are not being considered. The replacements will not be big stars probably because it is an expensive show to make and they don't have that big a budget. Simon seems very taken with Carmen Electra on BGT, so my guess is LA, Kelly Rowland, Carmen and Simon.

If budget is only "$100 mil" and one of the prerequisites for the next set of judges is to have "found someone" then who out there lady wise qualifies? AKA won't ask for much, 2.5-10mil max per year, and has discovered somebody. Oh and it's obvious not associated as heavily with AI as Paula as that's why she was let go. If you read btwn the lines.

Honestly if these are the judges he is getting, he might as well have kept Paula.

Honestly a bit sad to hear that Paula is gone. Even though her comments as a judge is often lacking and almost meaningless, it feels as though she is always a part of a TV singing competition in some way or another. It was heartfelt on X-Factor when you hear about how much time she put into her acts. Her groups were the hardest to work with yet in the end, they were the most professional looking.

I much prefer a judge with age and experience than someone who is young, beautiful and inexperience.
