ALBANY, NEW YORK
 Tonight’s show is at the PALACE THEATRE Albany is the capital city of the US state of New York. Albany was permanently settled in 1614, officially chartered as a city in 1686, and became the capital of New York in 1797. It is the oldest surviving settlement from the original thirteen colonies, and the oldest continuously chartered city in the United States. In the late 18th century and most of the 19th century, Albany was a center of transportation. It is located on the north end of the navigable Hudson River (the first steamboat service connected Albany and New York City). Albany has been a center of both state government and higher education for over a century, and much of the rest of its economy has been dependent on health care services. Albany is known for its extensive history, culture, architecture, and institutions of higher education. Albany is a two-time All-America City Award winner (1991 and 2009). The Venue The Palace Theatre was originally built as an RKO movie palace. Construction took place from June 1930 to October 1931. When it opened it was Albany's largest movie theater and the third largest in the world. The Palace is considered an excellent example of the architect's atmospheric theatres. In 1979 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The interior is designed and decorated in the Austrian Baroque style. The foyer, between the lobby and main entrance, has red marble staircases decorated in scrollwork, cartouches, and garlands. The wrought iron railing is foliated. Murals by two Hungarian artists decorate the walls. The balcony level extends over two-thirds of the sloping main floor. The heavily decorated ceilings and walls include pilasters rising to complex entablatures, statuary, and arches framing the wall boxes. A Czech made crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The orchestra pit can be raised and lowered by an elevator. The Theatre is home to the Albany Symphony and has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including The Rolling Stones, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Bob Dylan & Jonas Brothers, among others. I was on TicketMaster for the public sale, the second they opened it up for tickets. I had two tabs going, and got NOTHING for 30 minutes. I finally got 2 tickets in the second balcony and grabbed them. I am guessing most of the tickets ended up with the scalpers, which is wrong
 It makes it so hard for fans to get decent seats at decent prices.But at least I am going and I am in the venue  I can't wait for this show - are we there yet??--------------------

But she LOVED adam at the Idol concert, so I am hoping she loves this show more. I mean, how can you not? Hahaha..... But we ARE looking forward to it, and she says she keeps hearing Adam on the radio where she is, so she is taking that as a good sign that the concert will be awesome. Her husband is amused that we are driving several hours to go to this show (and staying overnight), while he is driving 10 miles to see Aerosmith or something like that. I can't wait, I really can't  --------------------
