Ashers highs are definitely not on the level of someone like Gene or even Bryan where its crystal clear and seemingly effortless.
But i actually like the sound he produces up there. It sounds as if he's just at the cusp of his range like its about to break. But he doesnt, so it gives a bit of savage quality to the belts, if that makes any sense? The ending high notes to his KO are a good example of what I'm trying to describe lol. I do agree it would sound even better if it was more "full"
It really depends on what you’re hoping to get from watching a singing show. If I wanted to listen to current marketable artists then I would listen to uh idk, established current marketable artists? If I want to hear people singing and performing like their life depended on it, I’ll turn to The Voice.
Like yeah Nathan’s not gonna be making hits anytime soon but what if I just want to hear a talented throwback soul singer? What if I just wanted to hear a guy like Bryan sing notes that reach into the stratosphere? Current artists on The Voice are always appreciated of course but I feel like there should be a place on TV for singers that may not necessarily fit into the mainstream.
Just my two cents.
