Hi, I have been having problems with my computer when I come onto this site. At first it was just the smilies not being in the right places. Then it would not keep me logged on if I went from say Scotty's site to Laurens. Now my computer freezes up after just a few minutes of being on IDF. I have to run my Advance System Deep Clean and then it is OK as long as I don't come on here. I do not know what else to do to fix the problems. I tried just reading and not posting, but that does not work either. Thanks

Hope the admin can figure this out for you. My dear hubby is not here to answer your questions. I don't know what you mean by PC and browser. I use firefox to sign onto the computer. I use Advance System to deep clean and also AVG. Hope that answers some of your questions. -------------------- ![]() Team McCreery #144 |

Okay, Firefox is your browser then. by PC, I wondered if you used a Mac conputer or windows, sounds like you use windows.
Maybe it's just a setting or code the admin can spot that will help you -------------------- |

Maybe it's just a setting or code the admin can spot that will help you I have windows. I know I've heard my dear hubby call it Windows 2007 and also maybe XP? He usually keeps things updated. My computer is only a little over a year old if I remember correctly. ROFL I really don't know that much about it. I just expect him to keep it running for me. Is it Windows 7 Home Premium? I'm trying to look for what type of Windows I have. I know that his work lets them buy windows at a really cheap rate so he keeps it updated. I've tried Chrome the last two days. My computer still bogs down and that was with just looking at the site and not posting. I have to deep clean it whenever I leave. If I don't come to this site my computer is just fine.

I use Chrome for over a year now. most of that w/o nothing added on.
My only problem is there seems to be a time out feature that my computer and IDF force me not to visit the site until its been hours. I get page can't be found. But I don't bog down and can go to other sites just fine. I doubt anyone else is on IDF for over 24hrs and most of those 24hrs as weel so they would never encounter my problem. Others use chrome as well. So for you it must be something to do with how your computer and IDF talk to each other. -------------------- AI Forever: Kelly Clay Diana Carrie Kat Melinda Syesha Allison Crystal Haley Jessica

My dear hubby says I should close it down if I'm not on there. I usually have 4 to 6 different pages up at once. I like to check different things at once. hmmm I don't understand how I can tell if my computer and IDF don't know how to talk to one another? -------------------- ![]() Team McCreery #144 |

Now for some reason I just got a message saying that the site was using up too much memory. Could that be what is causing it to lock up. I close it down and run the scan and then I'm ok. I've had to do it 4 or 5 times today! Maybe, I should ask dear hubby for more memory. Can I do that?

I use firefox most of the time for my browser, but sometimes it slows down on IDF too so I switch over to Opera. Haven't tried Chrome yet. -------------------- |

Not sure why IDF would hog up more memory than your other sites you visit.

No, it's not that expensive at all.
In fact memory is about the cheapest thing you can buy to upgrade your computer. Though it might not fix your problem. I think maybe you need to see if clearing your cookies esp for this site might help. Maybe the cache has been corrupted and that's why it isn't working for you. -------------------- AI Forever: Kelly Clay Diana Carrie Kat Melinda Syesha Allison Crystal Haley Jessica

scans are for spyware or malware or both.
cookies and cache and history are all apart of your browser. (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Netscape, Opera etc) they all have different ways to go about cleaning those. Too much to try and teach you...maybe if I knew your specific browser. -------------------- AI Forever: Kelly Clay Diana Carrie Kat Melinda Syesha Allison Crystal Haley Jessica

I have personally had to 'repair' several systems running AVG. The first thing I do now is uninstall it. I will typically do additional maintenance issues as well, but once I get rid of AVG the systems run a lot better. I personally use Avast.
But it is your system, and you should do whatever you need to keep it secure. --------------------

Not sure why IDF would hog up more memory than your other sites you visit. It slows down in general, and IDF is where I am most of the time, the Plugin-container.exe used by firefox slows down the browsing, and no matter how many times I disable it, it comes back -------------------- |
