I am desperately in need of a good book to read.
I haven't read a novel for pleasure in almost six months and I am suffering! I have a few more weeks before I need to go back to school so I am hoping to read a good book (or a few!) Anyone read anything good lately/have a really, really good book? -------------------- |

I don't know what kinds of books you're into, but one book I recently read that I loved was The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. And based on things I've heard, you also can't go wrong with any of Nicholas Sparks' books. I'm in the middle of my first one by him right now (The Lucky One), and so far it's really good. And my sister has read almost all of his books and considering how fast she gets through one, she obviously loves them.

Anything by Ted Dekker! I would suggest Thr3e , Obsessed , Adam , or Blink . All of them are amazing.

Safe Haven (or really anything) by Nicholas Sparks. So incredibly good.

Looking For Alaska by John Green.
I just finished it and wow it is at the top my favorite books list. It's dark, philosophical, and thought provoking with hints humor. If you're a teen like me, you'll enjoy this book. It's a slow start, like most books, but as you go on you really get to know the characters. They're just all so enticing and real, especially Alaska. The book is split up into two parts, a before and an after. There are some parts that are kinda controversial, not in my opinion though, but there's sex (barely), drugs, alcohol, and vulgar language. Here's a summary... Before. Miles “Pudge” Halter is done with his safe life at home. His whole life has been one big non-event, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave “the Great Perhaps” even more (François Rabelais, poet). He heads off to the sometimes crazy and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young. She is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart. Then. . . . After. Nothing is ever the same. -------------------- ![]() AI12: Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Burnell Taylor. last.fm |
