I went to a taping for the blind auditions for this season. They had everyone in the audience sign non-disclosure agreements, I don't know if they did that last year because I only attended a live show last year. If they didn't do that last year that might be a reason why there are less leaks this year.

Something that was mentioned in the former AI contestants thread on this forum is that Jordis Unga from Rockstar:INXS posted on her Facebook page that she tried out for the show. She only mentioned this after she saw that she appeared briefly in the promo that's been running for the show. She's the one in the red jacket. Based on the clip of her in the promo reacting after her performance and what I've heard the judges say they are looking for I would guess that she probably not only was picked by someone, but that she had multiple chairs turn around. I didn't attend the taping she auditioned on, so that is really just a guess on my part.

Jordis has been living in L.A. for a few years now and she's in a girl group called AMD (Angels of Mass Destruction). They recorded an album earlier this year, but it hasn't been released yet and as far as I know they haven't really been doing gigs around L.A. No clue what the plan for the band is now that Jordis is trying out for The Voice. I did get to see Jordis live a couple of times at some acoustic showcases a few months ago and she sounded just as good as ever.

i always did like her. i thought that INXS should've picked her instead of JD even though i liked him too. glad to hear that she's kept going since that time.

That's really exciting. I'm curious as to what the judges have said they are looking for this year! A female rocker maybe? I'd be so excited if Jordis won this! I think she would be much easier to market than Javier tbh. I would love it if multiple chairs turned for her. I could see Cee-Lo, Christina, and Adam all turning around. Cee-Lo because he doesn't really have a genre he usually goes for, Christina because Jordis can BELT, and Adam because he will probably like the rasp in her voice. Blake might too but I'm not sure.

As for AMD, I know about them and heard some samples of their songs on Myspace a couple years ago and they were awful. They were very Pop oriented from what I remember and I don't remember hearing Jordis's voice at all on them. I was extremely disappointed. I haven't heard anything from them in at least a year probably so I'm thinking maybe they aren't doing any work right now. I hope that this works out and Jordis gets something as a solo artist or a frontwoman of a Rock band (if she doesn't win). It's really sad because I remember back when Rockstar ended, she was signed to Epic Records and had a site and everything. It said that her debut album was going to be released in March 2006 or something like that. Almost 6 years later, still no album I think that Epic wanted her to do a more Pop oriented sound though because they took her song from Rockstar: INXS ("Try Not") and made it a ballad. It's good, but it's WAY different from the one she wrote. Maybe it was her own decision. Who knows really? But that's the only song we ever got from those sessions.

As for the acoustic sets, you're so lucky! I've seen videos and she is incredible. This one specifically is amazing. The difference in the audience from the beginning until the end of the video is a 100% flip! It shows that Jordis really can command a room with only her voice. She doesn't need a gimmick, she doesn't need any of the flashiness. She just needs her voice and that emotion! She puts SO MUCH into this performance. Post your opinions on the video here because I'd love to know if you are all as amazed by it as I was

I think INXS was kind of looking for Michael Hutchence 2.0. They weren't looking to change their sound, they were looking to find a new singer who could continue what they had with Michael. JD was able to do that because he had a similar voice style to Michael. That's also probably the reason why he beat out Marty and MiG, who I also believe were better than JD.

Also, Jordis ended up leaving the competition because she was losing her fire to compete. I was really disappointed back then, but now I think that she was realizing she didn't really want to front INXS. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think she thought she belonged anymore or something. And I'm kind of glad that they didn't because the comeback album wasn't very successful.

LOL probably since Adam made that comment about Idol back in season 1, I can see Idol being butt-hurt about it. But Idol may have more ratings, etc. But the season keep getting more boring.
