EQ Music blog

So not too long ago, we were very lucky to be able to attend Adam Lambert's showcase in London for his new album "Tresspassing" and by far - the standout moment for us on the night was THIS performance of new track "Outlaws Of Love".

Honestly, can I just tell you, it was VERY hard to hold back the tears whilst watching this performance. "Outlaws Of Love" is so universal and holds many truths and knowing it came from a place deep inside Mr. Lambert, the emotion carries through - in drag queen terms, let's just say he "went there".

A lot of Glamberts have been asking us for the full performance of this song and quite honestly, it would be a crime against pop not to share it with them - so here it is, enjoy!

Adam Lambert: 'New album Trespassing is angsty, darker' Digital Spy UK

Adam Lambert has revealed that his new album contains more angst than his previous material.

The singer assured fans that they are going to love Trespassing, as it contains "crazy" uptempo dance tracks.

Asked by 106.1 Kiss FM when the album will be released, Lambert replied: "I don't know! Maypril is what I've been telling people. It's actually two months in one."

Adam Lambert Can’t Go Around Kissing People! (Audio)
by Renee Snyder
March 09, 2012 12:00 PM EST

In a radio interview yesterday in Atlanta, Adam Lambert was asked if he might "tongue dive" again and kiss someone in the crowd at a future show. Don't get your hopes up, because it's probably not going to happen. Besides that last time it was just a spontaneous one-time action, now he has other reasons not to do it. "I've got a man, I can't be kissing anybody!" The DJ commented that he has a girl, but she'll give him a pass. Maybe that guy's girlfriend will, but not Sauli Koskinen. Adam laughed and said, "I don't think my man will give me a pass!"

The B98.5 FM show's producer wouldn't give up on trying for a kiss from Adam Lambert and eventually got one on the cheek. She posted a photo on her Facebook page, making her the envy of thousands of Adam's fans. Adam also gave them an "audio kiss" by singing some Whataya Want From Me a cappella. Brian Mansfield was at the 107.5 The River appearance today:

Adam Lambert: No talk of U.S. Queen dates
Comments By Brian Mansfield, USA TODAY Updated 9m ago
Intern Adam [R] of Nashville radio station WRVW-FM and singer Adam Lambert talk during Lambert visit to the station on Friday, March 9, 2012.CAPTIONBy Brian MansfieldAdam Lambert says he and the members of Queen haven't discussed the possibility of playing dates in the U.S.

"It's just that one date at Sonisphere and the warm-up gig in Russia," Adam said Friday at a radio-station event in Nashville. The two acts are playing together June 30 in Moscow and July 7 in England, with Lambert filling the frontman spot left vacant by the Freddie Mercury's death in 1991.

"Maybe we'll be able to do, like, a special night somewhere here, I don't know," he said during an interview with 107.5 The River on-air personality Intern Adam. "But there's no plan. There hasn't even been talk of that, so don't get your hopes up."

Adam says he'll do a lot of rehearsing with the band before those shows. "I've got my work cut out for me," he says. "I know the songs, but I don't know them all by heart, so I'm going to have to practice. But it's going to totally fun. I'm going to learn a lot from it, I think."

Adam doesn't look at his role in the shows as replacing Mercury.

"I'm there to sing music that he and the band wrote," he says. "It's not about imitation. It's not about doing an impression. It's, like, doing it my way in a way that, in my head, he would like. And Brian (May) and Roger (Taylor) are there to give me the green light or the red light."

Nor will he being trying to mimic Mercury.

"I'm not a mimicker," he says. "I'm my own artist. But he has inspired me. Hopefully, it will come from a deep, organic place. But I'm not growing a mustache. I won't be singing the songs with a British accent. ... I don't want to disrespect his memory and his legacy by getting up there and goofing on it."

Plus, he adds, "I can't wait to find out what my outfit is."

The two Adams talked about the recently replaced stage at the Ryman Auditorium, where Adam performed on his tour in 2010 and what might have happened to its "historic wood."

Adam also gave a plug to Kris Allen's The Vision of Love. "Have you heard his new song?" he asked. "It's really good. It just came out; it's happening."

Adam performed two songs -- Better Than I Know Myself and Whataya Want From Me -- during the event, which was attended by several contest winners. He addressed several other topics during the interview and a Q&A session with the audience.

Trespassing is still coming out in "Maypril": "It's a new month on the Adam calendar, somewhere between April and May. ... I've been working so hard all year on this album. ... I'm sorry that it has taken so long. It's me being a perfectionist, but it's also the logistics of record labels. There are a lot of things that go on behind the scenes that you guys would probably think is so ridiculous. It's the way it is; it's the business."

On the three new songs he performed Thursday in Atlanta: "Wait till you hear the tracks. My mom sent me the YouTube videos. I listened to them, and you can't hear all the tracks we've been working so hard on, so that it gets on radio and turns into a big, worldwide hit." He wrote Cuckoo with Bonnie McKee, who has also written with Katy Perry and Britney Spears. "It's about embracing how crazy I really am, just celebrating your lunacy. Enjoying being a nutbag."

The Better Than I Know Myself video: "I think we all have, to some degree, a light-and-dark dichotomy in our lives. Even if it's just one day you wake up and you're in a positive, happy mood; one day you're in a crappy mood. It's a simple as that. I wanted the video to be symbolic of the two sides of the personality. ... For me, in my own head, I have a dialogue with myself in certain moments -- certain decisions, in a relationship, my life or career, looking in a mirror -- we all have things that go on in our heads. Sometimes, that negative voice is the one we need to learn how to shut off. But what the video says is you kind of have to have one and the other get along with each other in order to have a complete personality. 'Course, there is something kind of cool about the dark side, too. Something a little sexy and powerful about the dark side. Plus, he's got fierce shoulder pads."

To a woman who said Adam's example has inspired her to laugh at the people who hate her: "Yeah, screw them.

"If you're in a place where people are being mean to you, or you feel like an outsider and unaccepted, sometimes it's hard to change it. But there are things we can do as people, even if you can't leave the city. ... It's mind over matter, some of the time. You've got to get involved in some activity where you meet people like you. There are ways to deal and find your place."

On Bruno Mars: "My style is a lot different than his, obviously, but I just think he's so amazing as a singer and as a writer."

Advice for a singer preparing to audition for The Voice: "Do have you your song picked out yet? Pick a song that's by a group or an artist that you are similar to. ... Seeing an artist, then hearing their voice and imagining what they can do is difficult for a lot of people. They have to be able to immediately put you in a box and compare you and say, 'He's country, he's rock, he's this or that.' It's very black or white when music-business people first see you. So make it really easy for them."

Adam Lambert ‘Trespassing’ tracks reviewed – Trespassing, Cuckoo and Chokehold.
Posted on March 10, 2012

ADAM LAMBERT PERFORMING TRACKS FROM ‘TRESPASSING’ LIVE

We’ve decided to do a little review on these live performances from Adam Lambert taken from the 9th of March in Atlanta, they are from his new album ‘Trespassing’ which will now be released in Mapril…i.e. the record label have pushed it back to an unknown date, boo hiss etc.

First up is the title track of the album ‘Trespassing’ it’s a very Jackson inspired track (it reminds us of Bad) punchy definite on the lyrics moving into a rockier (Queen like) chorus..may we just say as well his falsetto was killing it during these performances and the loose waist-coat and the dancing..hubba hubba. You can tell he’s so passionate and committed to performing these songs as well, it’s great to see. The track also reminded us in places of the Black Crowes ‘Hard to Handle’ song. Great stuff.

Next up we have Cuckoo, widely touted as the second single from ‘Trespassing’ (Adam even already has the video concept mapped out in his mind!) The Cuckoo bit is certainly a fun moment in the song, it contains plenty of Lambert vocal gymnastics without overdoing it. I struggled to hear the lyrics clearly (perhaps I was distracted by the tongue licking moments) but it certainly sounds like a single to me in a rhythmical sense.
How this man didn’t win American Idol with that voice as well is just crazy.. yes.gif thumbsup.gif

Last but not least is ‘Chokehold’ which from the title suggest a slightly darker song. I think this was actually my favourite out of the three, it reminded me of a rockier Savage Garden. Perhaps a bit of a softer vocal and tone to the track but I really like the production behind it. It sounds like it could be placed on the next Twilight soundtrack, but perhaps the Hunger Games will take it up? The chorus is very catchy.

Overall great performances from a talented performer and a fabulous sign of the kind of album ‘Trespassing’ will be…I hope they get that release date sorted out soon!

Some thoughtful interesting comments too......

New Music: Adam Lambert’s “Better Than I Know Myself” Gets Remixed Three Times
March 12, 2012
By TJ

Tired of swaying to the sounds of Adam Lambert‘s “Better Than I Know Myself” as a power ballad? Yeah, right. As if you could ever. Even still, Adam is giving his new tune a makeover thrice over with the release of “Better Than I Know Myself: The Remixes.”

The EP, which is on sale right now on his official website, features three brand new official remixes of the track, including a craaaazy sick grungy reinterpretation by Robert Marvin, an upbeat dubstep version by Dave Audé, and a new take by Alex Ghenea, which allows the song to remain a ballad, but with a lovely new beat.

Listen to all three remixes below and let us know which is your fav:
http://neonlimelight.com/2012/03/12/adam-l...elight%2F%2F%29

A nice little writeup of these and love that all three of the sound cloud remixes were live in my e mail this morning along with the link to this article! thumbsup.gif
