It constantly flips between seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7. Def Idol's prime years

Awkward, I thought season 8 was UNBEARABLE.
 Worst season ever. Then, again I despise Lambert with a passion and think pretty much everyone else was horrible or extremely overrated.  Except Kris. His winning was literally the only redeeming quality of that mess of a season. Oh, my favorite was 7. --------------------  credit to *Laci

7 is my favourite. If you exclude Ramiele the top twelve was pretty much perfect, and even Rami wasn't horrendous. All my favourites left before the top three (in four consecutive weeks
 ), but I was so invested in that season. 10 was also exceptional, but I wasn't as passionate about my favourites by comparison to S7. The first three seasons were really enjoyable, even it the overall talent wasn't great in S1 and possibly S3. The winners make up for that on account of them being the best ever. S5 was fun, S6 was a bit dull bar Melinda, and S4 is just forgettable for me. I actually don't mind S9 that much because at least Siobhan was exciting and Crystal was consistently stellar. S8 is easily my least favourite. So much dead weight in the finals, and the select few who actually had something to offer didn't do much for me. Judas Priest, Zakk Wylde, flaming piano and marching drum line, and one contestant made all of that happen. S10 all the way baby!
