I personally don't mind him, and I was just a little ticked off because my friends have been cycling I Will Wait all day I think my anger was more directed at the pretentious fans who claim that M&S are bringing back "real music".

Personally, to phrase it better, I think there are other bands in the folk genre who are doing more innovative and interesting things in the folk genre. With the exception of my pop fixations, I like to listen to artists that try different things and are a little more experimental. It's why I prefer indie music, because they normally have more freedom for experimentation.

Mumford and Sons is a terrible band, and they're only popular because of the dance music backlash. They shouldn't even be considered folk, and I find it hilarious when people comment on their music saying that this is real music LMAO (Not necessarily on this site, but I've heard people say this before) Both their albums are exactly the same music, and I couldn't even make it through the first one - trying showing some artistic development.

If you want real folk music go listen to something like Fleet Foxes instead of this watered down, packaged for the masses bland folk recently championed by bands like Mumford, Ed Sheeran etc.

Yeah I'd have to agree with all of this. M&S isn't authentic at all and their music is boring to me. There are so many other great bands out there, like Fleet Foxes as you mentioned.

I'm super excited for Natalia Kills' next album. I feel like her first album was a real disappointment because her label had more input than she did. It seems like she's going to have a lot more control on the next one. Some of the songs she's released recently (they're all pretty awesome):

Agree. I don't despise M&S but they're not THAT great and I certainly am not gonna champion them like so many do.

Ed Sheeran? I'm sorry this sounds so immature, but he makes me rage, I get the urge to punch something when I see or hear him. His voice is not spectacular, it's whisper-singing and his lyrics imply to me that he has a bit of a savior complex when it comes to women.

Going along with all the Mumford stuff, I have never really been a fan. For folksy artists, I like Laura Marling a lot (who ironically used to collab with Marcus Mumford when they were dating).

I agree with this. Fleet Foxes (and Iron & Wine) >>>> M&S. Not that I don't like Mumford & Sons to an extent, but I prefer their less popular songs, like Winter Winds.

-Young and Beautiful is one of Lana Del Rey's best songs, but I think I prefer the Dan Heath Orchestral version to the original:

I accidentally deleted the part about Lana in your post but I, surprisingly, actually think the orchestral version is too distracting from her. It's really loud, idk. It is definitely one of her best for sure, I agree!

Agreed, and Lost in My Bedroom is perfection as well. Still can't decide which one I like more.

Agree with both of these, but personally my favorite track from Nocturnes is toss between "All For You" (can't escape the love of how it's similar to the Pet Shop Boy's "Domino Dancing") and "Beat Beat". I think "Strangers" is a little too long, but outside of that it's a great album. Little Boots could've easily shortened "Strangers" and maybe tacked on "Headphones" too and it would be perfect. Also, not sure why some of her diehards have an issue with "Shake" being shortened, but it really still is great even with the album edit of it.


Disclosure is probably the best thing out of the UK right now. Anything they touch is just too good imo. I already was a fan due to their remix of Jessie Ware's "Running" last year and they haven't disappointed yet.
