  1. It would make sense if Abi is deliberately trying to throw the competition. I'm confident none of the Groundwork artists, Blake, KB, and Abi actually wanted/want to win the competition.
  2. What I mean is that if someone is a producer favourite that person can get away with anything like Clay Aiken singing the same song as Josh Gracin.
  3. Kayko was likely told no 'cause he isn't a producer favourite. I reckon if it was one of the more popular female contestants or Triston making that request that they'd agree to it. The producers want a girl winning this season, but if Triston happens to be a force that can't be defeated, they won't fight back on that. Triston is probably the only male winner they'd be okay with.
  4. If you're wanting rock screams, none of these contestants can do it. Mia is probably the only one who is even remotely comfortable doing something upbeat without it requiring a lot more effort than usual from that contestant, so your best hope is her.
  5. Maddie's highest-rated performance on WNTS was "Nothing Compares To U", a midtempo song. Maddie also did 5 midtempo to uptempo songs before doing her second ballad of the competition ("I Told You So" at Top 5, near the end of the competition lol) with her first ballad being "Homeward Bound". I don't count Sam since she was the only girl in a Top 5 finale, which was unprecedented, but the only conventional girl winner in ABC Idol did a mix of faster and slower performances. Maddie's most watched performance was Brand New Key, which gained over a million views a week and was the viral performance of the season, and that is no ballad. I know Maddie was on a weaker season, but doing an even-ish mix of slower and faster performances is workable if you have the talent to actually be able to do faster songs in the first place. What matters for those with the talent is choosing a song with the lyrics and message you can connect with, not the tempo of the song. Candice, the last Fox-era female winner, also mixed it up between ballads and faster performances and had a number of uptempos in the early to beginning of the middle part of the competition. No one is saying do uptempos all the time either, but you shouldn't avoid them if you can do them. You want to alternate at times. Maddie doing "Walk Like an Egyptian" was refreshing." Candice gave a great "Come Together" that was only beaten by La'Porsha's. In Mia's case, her Wildflowers was exciting, riveting, and so indicative of who she could be as a post-show artist or the type of uptempos she can do on the show, edgy uptempos.
  6. Well, some people do an uptempo song for no reason and get eliminated either because they are much worse on uptempos or choose it for the sake of doing so, which defeats the point of doing so. Pia was just never that popular to begin with according to Nigel and left around the time she would have left, not because she did an uptempo song. I do not think Mia will choose an uptempo song for the sake of it and will choose well. And she has crucially shown that she can actually do it and do it well unlike a lot of other contestants.
  7. Don't listen to armchair experts like StarWalker1 who are discouraging you from going uptempo or singing a midtempo song. It's a fact that viewers hold female contestants to a higher standard than the male ones, so some variety is needed. Males can do similar performances every week with no issue, but females can't on this show. Many contestants on this show are known for being a lot worse on uptempos than ballads, but you gave us a rousing performance with Wildflowers And Wild Horses. You rocked the house and had the right attitude or grit, whatever you want to call it, for this performance. IDF also has a very bad track record with winners in general, so don't feel discouraged by not many on IDF having you as their top favourite. I personally consider you the best chooser of songs in the competition so far. Trust your instincts, Mia. They are excellent. Moderation and consistency is key to winning this competition. If you want to pick a faster song and have a really good arrangement to work with, it can even be better than going with a ballad on a very ballad-heavy night.
  8. Hey, Wildflowers and Wild Horses was a great performance and had one of the best reactions on FB for the night. It doesn't kill to go uptempo every now and then.
  9. I see Julia going 11-12th. I don't see how Nya or Jordan will survive the next cut. Julia can survive the next vote and then be eliminated without much fanfare.
  10. She would've been 100% donezo with that kind of performance. The pimp spot literally saved her.
  11. Maybe it did. Perhaps Roman would have advanced if voting opened at the start of the show and would have made it over Julia, who gave a lousy performance.
  12. Her numbers are FB aren't very impressive, and her voice appears to be tiring out. She could be the Pia of the season where casuals thought she was a front runner, but she shockingly goes out somewhat early in the competition.
  13. You should consider splitting the ones who advanced directly through votes and the WCs since the WC performances were posted last.
  14. Here are how the Top 5 in FB reacts compare in Google Trends (I am on MDT): Emmy has the highest peak but not the longest sustained activity. Kayko and Mia appear to have the most sustained activity. I personally do not believe Emmy will win this competition.
