Hey there everyone, your favorite reporter Brian is back with another video. This one comes to you all courtesy of the Entyce Dance Convention I attended in Mahwah, NJ the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Those who were there teaching (as well as performing in the showcase) were Allison and Dmitry from Season 2 of So You Think you Can Dance, a choreographer from the High School Musical series, a performer from the movie You Got Served!, as well as Tyce Diorio. Below is the video of the showcase on YouTube along with a downloadable link:
What struck me when I watched the performance was the song Allison was dancing to. I felt as though I knew it from an a cappella album I owned, and sure enough, after a little research I was correct The song is Gravity by Sara Bareilles. While her album only came out this past year, she sang this self-written song with her a cappella group, UCLA Awaken A Cappella. Here is a sample clip:
For all of you fans that don’t know, Shauna’s myspace was hacked into. She no longer has any control over what is said or put on to her space. So please add her new myspace here. Also for anyone that has her old space on their top friends make sure you take her off and replace it with her new space.
And on to some better news now that tour is coming to a close Shauna will be part of “Traffic” in Oceanside Ca on December 15-16 at 7:00pm. For more information contact (706) 941 5903 or visit Unity Dance Ensemble.
“The winner of the popular TV series “So You Think You Can Dance?” will star in a local production of “The Nutcracker.” Sabra Johnson will perform with Clarence native Neil Haskell, among the reality series’ final four contestants, in the American Academy of Ballet’s version of the classic holiday ballet this December. In lieu of “The Nutcracker’s” Spanish variation, the pair will dance the paso doble they performed on the TV show. They’re also expected to perform other roles in the ballet” link
Sounds like Neil and Sabra are jumping right into new and exciting experiences the day after their last “SYTYCD” show concludes in Reno, Nevada. If you all are interested in going, the performances of “The Nutcracker” are at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1st and at 1 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 2nd at the University of Buffalo’s Center for the Arts. Tickets cost $20-$25 and are available at the UB Center box office and at ticketmaster outlets. Hope some of you get the amazing chance to go and post about the show! That’s all for now but I’ll be back with more fun info soon
