“The winner of the popular TV series “So You Think You Can Dance?” will star in a local production of “The Nutcracker.” Sabra Johnson will perform with Clarence native Neil Haskell, among the reality series’ final four contestants, in the American Academy of Ballet’s version of the classic holiday ballet this December. In lieu of “The Nutcracker’s” Spanish variation, the pair will dance the paso doble they performed on the TV show. They’re also expected to perform other roles in the ballet”

Sounds like Neil and Sabra are jumping right into new and exciting experiences the day after their last “SYTYCD” show concludes in Reno, Nevada. If you all are interested in going, the performances of “The Nutcracker” are at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1st and at 1 and 5 p.m. on Dec. 2nd at the University of Buffalo’s Center for the Arts. Tickets cost $20-$25 and are available at the UB Center box office and at ticketmaster outlets. Hope some of you get the amazing chance to go and post about the show! That’s all for now but I’ll be back with more fun info soon

After achieving great ratings this season, So You Think You Can Dance has been renewed for a fourth season. Both the Wednesday and Thursday night shows have been ranking in this summer’s Top 3 shows of the week in the 18-49 and 18-34 demographics. This season’s ranking are 3% better than last season’s in the 18-49 demo.
I’m sure we are all excited by this news and will be looking forward to the fourth season!

No, this isn’t a post telling everyone to boycott the show after Jessi Peralta and Jesus Solorio got unceremoniously booted from the show last Thursday. Though that would certainly be justified, no?
Anyway, this is just a reminder that SYTYCD will NOT be taped or airing this week. Apart from it being July 4th, it’s also been said that the dancers are getting a week off so injuries are less likely to plague them. Last season, a number of contestants, including most of the Top 6, suffered from various injuries; ranging from sprained knees to broken toes. Personally, I’m glad. These dancers come on this show to entertain and do what they love, not dance through injuries. Good job, Nigel. This may be the first smart decision you’ve made all season.
What a slap in the face to Jessi, huh?

After each performance show, you can expect a review of all the dance (plus some other things I noticed) from yours truly. And you’ll enjoy them, or else I’ll hunt you down and beat you up. Moving on!
OK, so the combination of a storm + DirecTV = me missing the last 4 couples. Though I watched them all online, I only got to see the dance (no pre-performance / judges’ comments). So the comments will be significantly shorter for those dances.
